Police are appealing for witnesses after a schoolgirl cyclist was involved in a hit-and-run incident this week.
The 11-year-old girl was cycling across Heritage Way, at the junction with Elson Road, at 8am on Wednesday when she was involved in a collision with a black vehicle. As a result of the incident the girl fell off her bike.
The vehicle, which is described as medium-sized, failed to stop at the scene and continued north along Heritage Way towards the A32 Fareham Road. The girl sustained minor injuries and was treated at the Gosport War Memorial Hospital walk-in centre.
Officers investigating the incident are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the collision or who knows the identity of the driver to come forward.
