A barking dog may have stopped a thief from burgling a Gosport home.
Hampshire Police say the incident happened between 10:00 and 16:00 on Friday 7th February. Someone had forced their way into a home in Harmen Road but nothing was stolen as it is believed the home owner’s dog may have disturbed the suspect.
Police have reminded people to lock away all gardening equipment or tools in a shed or garage, to keep valuable items out of view. Keep house and car keys safe.
Anyone with information regarding the attempted burglary is asked to contact the Fareham and Gosport Priority Crime office on 02392 899824. Information can also be given anonymously by phoning the independent Crimestoppers charity on 0800 555 111.
