What have been described as the significant accomplishments of the Gosport Community Safety Partnership (CSP) over the past year were recognised at an Achievement Awards event in the Town Hall on Thursday 24th September.
The CSP involves a large number of representatives from a range of statutory and voluntary sector organisations including Hampshire Constabulary, Gosport Borough Council, Hampshire County Council, Motiv8 and Street Pastors. More than 40 organisations regularly contribute to the success of the CSP either through the Partnership Action Group or through partnership initiatives.
The CSP continues to adapt to ever-changing demands; a clear example of this being the work associated with the Supporting Troubled Families programme which has seen successful outcomes but has also resulted in increased demand and time for all associated partners.
Councillor John Beavis, who chairs Gosport CSP said "This event is to say a sincere thank you to all partners who contribute to the work of the Gosport Community Safety Partnership. I am delighted that we are able to take the time to acknowledge the exceptional achievements of this excellent partnership working and recognise particular individual contributors for their understanding input to the partnership. Gosport is very fortunate to have so many dedicated people working for the good of the community."
And Chief Inspector James Pegler, District Commander for Gosport said: "The achievement of Gosport Community Safety Partnership clearly illustrates the strength and value of partnership working here in Gosport. We are keen to build on this success to ensure we continue to increase the feeling of safety among Gosport communities. The partnership is making a difference with outstanding teamwork, and is more relevant than ever as police resources are reducing. I am proud to say that Gosport is leading the way in Hampshire as a very strong partnership."
During the mid-day ceremony, Chief Superintendent David Powell, Head of Prevention and Neighbourhoods, presented individual awards to Kirsty Cremer, Motiv8; Emma Turnbull, Southern Health and Brian Cossins, Gosport Street Pastors, recognised for their significant contributions to Gosport Community Safety Partnership.
