The Gosport Neighbourhood Police would like to warn residents of Telephone Fraud occuring in Gosport.
Two incidents were reported to Police on the 27/11/2015 and relate to elderly and vulnerable females in Gosport being telephoned by "Police Officers" from the serious fraud office.
The victims were telephoned and spoke with a "Police Officer". The "Police Officer" told them that their account/card had been cloned and it was being used in crime. As part of the investigation, the victim was requested to withdraw a large sum of money from their account, which would then be collected from them.
Thankfully neither victims withdrew money, both contacted Hampshire Police or their family, who then notified Police.
