The Hampshire Football Association has become the first sporting organization to pledge its support for Project Pictogram – Driving Safer Roads and will be promoting the initiative through its youth club networks.
Project Pictogram is a community approach to road safety which encourages businesses and organisations to use a standard set of images on their vehicles to communicate the dangers of the ‘fatal four’: inappropriate speed, mobile phone use (and other distractions), not wearing a seatbelt and driving on drink or drugs.
Hampshire FA is encouraging all the clubs in its leagues to add the pictograms to tournament programmes, posters and social media in a bid to ‘nudge’ young people, even before they start driving, as well as re-minding parents to be a good role model driving to and from matches.
