Police are warning drivers to keep an eye on their vehicles after a spate of thefts in the Brockhurst and Privett council wards on Wednesday night.
Gosport District Police Sergeant Lesley Meenaghan reported yesterday that seven vehicles had been entered.
There was no sign of forced entry but ‘numerous items’ had been stolen.
The haul included a Tom Tom sat nav; Oakley sunglasses; cash and a Bear Grylls back pack. According to the officer, the vehicles involved had been left in private driveways or were parked on the street.
Sgt Meenaghan advised residents: ‘When away from your vehicle please double check the vehicle is locked and all valuables are removed. Vehicle should ideally be lit in a well lit area.’
‘Report any suspicious incidents straight away. If you see anybody trying car door handles, please call the police immediately on 999’.
