Burglars stole nearly £2,000 after breaking into a seafront cafe.
Police are appealing for information after the theft at the Penguin Cafe in Marine Parade West, Lee-on-the-Solent. The break-in took place at some point between 7pm on Sunday and 7.35am on Monday.
Oil drums which were placed in front of a door at the back of the shop had been moved aside and a panel removed from the door for the burglars to get in. They then took away a safe which had £1,500 inside. Coins worth £300 were also taken from the till.
