Police are hunting kidnappers after man is bundled into a van in Gosport

A man was kidnapped and assaulted by a group of men in Gosport on Saturday 19th October.  The 38 year old was bundled into a van on Forton Road at around 7.30pm in what Police are describing as a ‘targeted attack’.

He was driven to an unknown location and kept in the van overnight, the kidnappers then drove him to the Cambridge Road area of Gosport on Sunday at 8.30am and assaulted him.  He suffered an injury to his face and was later treated at hospital.  He was also robbed of £50 cash.

Police would like to hear from anyone who may have been in the area of Forton Road between Russell Street and Ann’s Hill Road at around 7.30pm to 8.15pm on Saturday or anybody who was in the Cambridge Road area on Sunday.

CID is seeking witnesses to suspicious activity, particulary anyone who noticed a van and several men.

Please call Fareham Police Station on 101 with any information.  Alternatively information can be given anonymously by phoning the independent Crimestoppers charity on 0800 555 111.
