Hampshire Constabulary are investigating a knifepoint robbery at Elly’s Wine Store on St Nicholas Avenue in Gosport on Monday 22nd May.
At 9:35pm a man entered the store with his face covered and threatened a member of staff with a knife.
The man stole over £300 from them before leaving the shop and running towards Dampier Close.
Nobody was injured in the incident.
They have now released a CCTV image of this man to help them locate him, as seen below:
He is described as:
- White man.
- Slim build.
- About 5ft 8ins tall.
- Ages in his thirties.
- He was wearing a dark blue jacket, a blue hooded top, and a dark blue baseball cap. He was wearing distinctive blue jeans with white patches on the back and black trainers with a thick white sole.
- He had a distinctive walk with his feet slightly pointing outwards and his knees constantly bent.
A 28 year-old man from Gosport has been arrested on suspicion of robbery in relation to this investigation. He has been released from Custody, but remains under investigation.
Investigating officer PC Mark Fawcett said "Do you recognise the man in this photograph? Did you see him running from the scene?
"We’re not linking this incident with any other reports made to us at this time and the Neighbourhood Policing Team has been regularly patrolling the area and speaking to residents",
