Motorist Mark Osborne was caught driving while more than twice the legal alcohol limit.
The 34-year-old, of Molesworth Road, Gosport, admitted driving a Vauxhall Vectra in Western Way, Fareham, after drinking too much on October 9.
A test revealed his breath contained 76 microgrammes of alcohol per 100 millilitres.
The legal limit for driving is 35mg.
Osborne was banned from driving for 18 months by Fareham magistrates.
He was also fined £250 and told to pay £15 to a fund for crime victims and £85 in court costs.
