Shoplifter Ashley Wilson has been told to get help for his drug addiction.
Wilson was caught stealing three bottles of wine, worth £18, from the Co-op in Gosport on November 24. The 25-year-old also took perfume, worth £52, from Boots at Westbury Mall, Fareham, on November 3 and other items from the Co-op in September.
Wilson, of Greenlea Grove, Gosport, pleaded guilty to three counts of theft when he appeared at Portsmouth Magistrates’ Court.
The court heard he had carried out the thefts in order to get money to fund his drug habit. The magistrates handed him a 12-month community order which will include six months of drug rehabilitation treatment. He was also told to pay £50 in costs.
