The elderly victim of a bizarre burglary says she does not want to leave her home in case the raiders come back.
Edith Kenny caught three men and an elderly women in her home. Since the incident the 79 year old says she’s been left on edge and afraid to leave her home.
Edith found the burglars when she returned to her home in Masten Crescent, Gosport, after going shopping. She noticed the front door was open and saw an elderly lady sitting in her living room. She asked what she was doing in her house and started to call the Police. As she did the woman shouted and three men came down the stairs with a large bag. The men helped the woman out of the chair and left.
Police are investigating after Edith noticed a gold necklace, gold ring and several pairs of earrings, including pairs with emeralds were missing.
One of the men was slim, tall, in his late 20s to early 30s and wearing a grey suit. He had slicked back brown hair. The others were smartly dressed in jackets and trousers. The woman was scruffy.
Detective Contable Sandra Peet said ‘This burglary took place in daylight in a quiet area. Did you see anything suspicious or did you see the offenders in the area?’
Anyone with any information about the burglary, which happened between 09:00 – 11:00 on Wednesday 10th December, can call Detective Peet at Fareham CID on 101.
