Home burgled while owner was out

Burglars struck at a house while the owner was visiting her mum in hospital.

Thieves lifted the back patio door of a house in Windsor Road, Gosport, off its runners to get inside.  They then searched the house and took a black Xbox games console with controllers, a men’s pocket watch on a gold chain and a Sony digital camera.

It happened between 5pm and 6pm on Monday 9 January 2012.

PC Samantha Gee, from Gosport police station, said: ‘There could have been a few people in the area during the given times. Were you in the area? Did you see anyone acting in a suspicious manner or have you been offered any of the stolen property?

‘Please make sure that your homes are secure at all times, and that all locks available are used.’

Anyone with information should call PC Gee on 101.  Alternatively you can call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
