A man arrested after a police car was set on fire has been released after returning bail.
Police said the man, in his 20s, was arrested after four cars, including a police car, were set alight on October 9 in the evening, in Foster Road and Linden Road, Gosport.
A fifth car was set alight on October 11 in Cleveland Road, a short distance from Foster Road.
The blazes sparked an appeal from a senior detective at Hampshire police.
‘I’m appealing for anyone with information about these incidents to come forward and speak to us,’ Detective Inspector Paul Masters said.
‘If you saw what happened or know anything else about the fires, please get in touch.’
On Tuesday a Hampshire police spokesman added: ‘We would still encourage anyone with information to contact police on 101 quoting 44160382073.’
