Police Appeal After Woman Assaulted in Gosport

Police are investigating after a woman was assaulted in Gosport.

The 21-year-old was walking under the bridge on Anns Hill Road, at approximately 7:30pm on Wednesday (February 24th), when she was grabbed by a man. 

He grabbed her shoulders and pushed her backwards before she was able to push him off. He then fled the scene. 

Fortunately the victim did not suffer any injuries but she has been left shaken by the incident.

The man is described as:

  • White
  • In his 50’s or 60’s
  • Approximately 5ft 1ins tall
  • Grey haired
  • He was wearing glasses and a tan coloured jacket

Police Constable Matt Curson said: "This is a rare occurrence for the area and we would like to speak to anyone who has information about this incident.

"We are particularly keen to speak to three people, possibly boys, who were seen on push bikes in the area at around the time as they may have seen the offender."
