Robberies by men on bikes are connected

Two early morning robberies by men on bikes are connected, detectives have said.

The first incident in Gosport saw an 18-year-old man robbed of his mobile phones and bank cards as he sat in his car.  He was approached by a man on a bike, wearing a hooded top with its hood up, at about 3am on Sunday in Grange Avenue, in Rowner, Gosport.  The cyclist opened the man’s car door and then demanded that the victim hand over the items.

In the second incident at the weekend, a 17-year-old boy was robbed of his Nike jumper and mobile phone by two men.  The pair had approached the boy while he sat at the bus stop on the south side of The Crossways, in Gosport.  The boy was listening to music when the robbers approached him at around 4.30am on Sunday.  They were both wearing dark clothing and riding bikes.

Neither victim in the robberies was injured.

Witnesses or anyone with information is asked to call Detective Constable Owen Woods in CID at Fareham Police Station on 101.

Or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
