A woman was assaulted in an unprovoked attack in Gosport.
Police are now appealing for witnesses to the incident which happened near to Holbrook Leisure Centre in Forest Way just after 5pm on Friday, November 18.
The 18-year-old woman was walking along the cycle path when an unknown man approached her and was verbally abusive to her. He then pushed her on the shoulder, assaulting her. She did not sustain any injuries. A member of the public chased the offender off.
The suspect has been described as a white male, about 5ft 5in, aged in his twenties and of a medium build. He was wearing a dark coloured hooded top with a red logo on the front and also dark-coloured trousers.
PC Sam Warne, said: This is a rare incident of unprovoked assault on the victim who was shaken by the incident. Hampshire Police are seeking to locate a man who chased off the offender, preventing further assault.’
